SynPlanet joins Open 3D Foundation to accelerate metaverse development

SynPlanet, an AI-based GIS platform that provides a digital twin of Earth, has joined the Open 3D Foundation (O3DF), a Linux Foundation project. By using the O3DE technology, SynPlanet can improve its platform’s performance, scalability and interoperability.

The O3DF was launched in July 2021 with over 20 founding members, including Amazon Web Services, Adobe, Huawei, Intel and Niantic. The foundation hosts the Open 3D Engine (O3DE) project, a modular, cross-platform 3D engine that can power anything from AAA games to cinema-quality 3D worlds to high-fidelity simulations.
